Aromatic herbs are a diverse group of plants, familiar in cooking as well as in gardens and on balconies. At our nursery, we grow and sell a wide selection in pots.
What are aromatic herbs?
Many are plants we use every day. What they have in common is foliage rich in fragrant essential oils.
Some aromatic species also have a history of use in traditional herbal preparations. That history should not be taken as advice to use a plant to treat a medical condition.
Most are valued in the kitchen, where they add aroma and flavour. Compact pots are practical when there is no room for a full vegetable garden.
They also add greenery to balconies and are often among the first plants people choose when starting a small home herb garden.
Although many herbs can be raised from seed, buying established potted plants is simpler. Sowing involves preparing a suitable seed tray, caring for young seedlings and then transplanting them into separate pots or a larger container once they are ready.
